The 8 peacocks that reside here provide constant
entertainment for the cats of Walk on the Wildside. The birds roost
on top of cages and walk within a foot of the wire, staying just out
of reach as if to tease the cats. But the cats do enjoy trying to
catch them. Even more entertaining is when the male peacocks display
right outside the cats cage for hours of entertainment.
This is a very confused peacock looking for a mate, and a very
frustrated cat looking for a meal.

Ling Ling our Himalayan sits atop the ice as she
desperately tries to catch a fish. Sammy our
Great-Pyrenes and Ling Ling are best friends. They play together
and groom each other. It is something to see Sammy gets in the
play position and Ling Ling will play with him. They play chase
around and attack, he is very gentle with her, he could knock her
out with one wag of the tail, she also likes to attack that when
it's moving. You see one you will find the other close by, like in
the movie Homeward Bound, a Sassy and Champ
relationship.

Princess our
Persian
crossed the Rainbow Bridge 11/05
Princess keeps herself just out of harms way, the big cats
view her as a toy or a meal. She is wise enough to stay just out
of their reach and torment them. She will lie down in the yard
right next to their cages and it drives them crazy they can't get
to her.
Rossi our Arabian-Quarter horse
almost 30 years old here.
Rossi is the last of our herd, which once numbered 44
horses . He has faithfully carried 3 generations, all learning to
ride on this one horse. He has accumulated boxes of ribbons and
trophy's in his time. Now he carries the grandchildren, he is wise
enough to know these are young children and treats them
accordingly. He can still give an experienced rider one heck of a
good run. He is viewed by the larger cats as a possible meal, they
go into the attack mode when he comes within 10 foot of their
cage, more feline enrichment. He walks right next to the cougars
cage and could care less about them, it's as if he is teasing
them. Rossi has now crossed
the Rainbow Bridge after 30 years of being our friend and part of
our family.
First
encounter with a bobcat, my mom stands bravely as she becomes a
perch for a young male bobcat. Your never too old to experience
something new.
