Rufus, a nutered
male bobcat, and Biggie (Big Foot) a male
Canadian Lynx are the best of friends. They came to us as a pair,
the owner did not want to separate them. Another enclosure had to
be built fast, we had only a few weeks to get one up and some what
functioning.
Rufus had a severe case
of ear mites that went untreated and he ended up with him
scratching his ears until they became deformed and now lay
almost flat against his head. Despite his looks he is by far the
sweetest natured bobcat. He comes running when he sees people,
wanting attention and to be petted. He can never get enough
attention. Beware though Rufus as sweet as he is never misses the
opportunity to pee on people when they least expect it. If he
can't get you he will turn and pee on his best buddy
Biggie.

Rufus and Biggie are good buddies, you can always
find them together, above Biggie and Rufus spend their time together
on the platform in the alcove, their favorite spot to spend the day
sleeping and grooming each other.
Biggie & Rufus have only
been with us since June 2003. But they have adapted very well. Their
favorite spot is the top platform under the roof in the heat of the
day. They spend most of the day in the 8x8 alcove on the upper
platform under the misters .
Phoebe has been moved in with the boys and it is
Rufus's mission to spend at least an hour a day tormenting her. He
makes it a point to go her direction and get her growling, he knows
what he is doing, because the minute I yell his name he drops his
head and turns around and waddles away from her. If it wasn't so
cute it would make you mad, but he is the class clown here. Below
Rufus waddles down the log and to the right their both patiently
waiting for attention or the opportunity to pee on someone
new.

The boys
needed to be placed, again I got a call asking if I would take
them, again I said yes. Rufus is a people cat he loves people and
attention and we are glad to have him here as a permanent resident
at Walk on the Wildside, although I think Phoebe wouldn't care if he
left.

You want me to
play, I think not, I'll just sit here and make you look stupid,
that's more fun. I'd rather
watch the human do
tricks.
